Write your response and explain your reasoning.

Duplicate the unadjusted trial balance and post the approved proposals to that controlled ledger. Construct the adjusted statements from it. Build a control matrix for the accounting equation, net income and retained earnings, OCI and AOCI, key rollforwards, cash flows, earnings per share, and selected disclosures. For each row, show the source, expected and actual result, tolerance, exception, owner, and disposition.

Compare your reasoning with the worked answer

A complete response derives statement amounts from the adjusted ledger and keeps presentation reclassifications separate from recognition adjustments. The matrix tests each assertion independently and traces displayed amounts to postings, schedules, memos, and evidence. It does not treat a balanced balance sheet as proof that classification, AOCI, cash flow, earnings per share, or disclosures are correct. Failed rows remain open until corrected or formally accepted.
