What this course covers
This is the first course in the intermediate accounting sequence. You will apply U.S. GAAP to the accounting cycle, revenue, current assets, and long-lived assets. The course includes IFRS comparisons and a project that compares three public companies.
What you will do
- Follow a transaction from the event to a complete set of financial statements.
- Apply the five-step revenue model to contracts and support the timing of revenue.
- Measure receivables, inventory, plant assets, and intangibles under U.S. GAAP, with IFRS comparisons.
- Compare three public companies and trace reported figures to their filings.
This course builds part of the financial-reporting foundation used in later accounting courses and CPA exam study. It is not a CPA review course.
