Mistaken idea “A net-income bridge alone completes an error correction”

Mistaken reasoning: This mistake omits balance sheet, cash flow, equity, tax, EPS, disclosure, and control consequences.

Updated Aug 21, 2026 Review due Nov 8, 2026

Why this is mistaken

Net income is one projection of the error. Rebuild the balance sheet and equity rollforward, test cash-flow classification and the indirect reconciliation, compute tax and EPS by period, and reconcile the note. The correction is not complete while any projection remains untied.
