Mistaken idea “Identifying a fact by label and value alone”

Mistaken reasoning: A specific error pattern that replaces the evidence required for xbrl fact identity.

Updated Sep 11, 2026 Review due Nov 8, 2026

Why this is mistaken

An XBRL fact's identity includes its concept, entity, period, unit, and dimensions, plus filing provenance. The same visible value can describe a segment and a consolidated entity, or an instant and a duration. The correction preserves the complete context key before duplicate screening or analysis. Rendered labels help review but cannot replace machine-readable identity.
