What the search covers

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) FAQ says full-text search covers electronic EDGAR filings submitted since 2001, including attachments. EDGAR is the SEC's Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval system.

The search accepts keywords, company names, stock symbols, and filer identifiers. An attachment can appear in the results, so check which document contains the match before using it.

What the date means

The year 2001 describes search coverage. It is neither the start of EDGAR nor the launch date of this search tool. Use the company filing list to look for older electronic filings. The FAQ does not establish that every earlier paper filing is available online.

This record describes the FAQ text read on September 12, 2026. It does not verify the current search controls through a browser.
