Instructional scope

This record supports an ACC 301 sequence from the provision boundary and tax- basis inventory through current tax, temporary differences, gross deferred balances, enacted-rate changes, carryforwards, realization and valuation allowance, uncertain tax positions, intraperiod allocation, entries, presentation, rate reconciliation, taxes paid, and note release.

Standards clock

The current lane incorporates the noncurrent presentation model in ASU 2015-17, the applicable simplifications in ASU 2019-12, and the annual disclosure amendments in ASU 2023-09. The ASU 2023-09 amendments are effective for public business entities for annual periods beginning after December 15, 2024, and for other entities for annual periods beginning after December 15, 2025. The 2025 GAAP Taxonomy implementation guide is nonauthoritative disclosure-modeling context.

Limitations

The record does not interpret tax law, establish a tax basis, select a filing position, forecast future taxable income, validate a tax-planning strategy, conclude on realizability, decide uncertain-position technical merits, approve an indefinite-reinvestment assertion, prepare a return, or provide legal or tax advice.
